CASP Licenses
CASP is available under following licenses
· Free License
· Evaluation License
· Student License
· Educational License
· Professional License
Users can check their license under Resources->License menu.
Free/Evaluation License
Free license is available for unlimited time with some feature limitations. Free license can be upgraded to time limited Evaluation License free of charge with reduced limitations. For converting Free license to Evaluation license click on Resources->License menu. In the displayed dialog, goto 'File License' tab, fill required information and click on 'Generate License File' button. This will generate the license file (casp_lic_info.txt) in the user selected directory. User has to send this file to our contact email address. After validating the provided license file, we will reply with a license activation file (casp_lic.dat) to the user email id mentioned in the license information. Install the activation file by clicking on ‘Install Activation File’ and selecting the license activation file. Restart CASP to automatically apply the license.
Student License
Student license is based on 'casp_lic.dat' file. User has to follow steps mentioned in Evaluation license to obtain the license file.
Evaluation and Student Licenses require user to connect to the internet once in every month for updating its internal license time. This can be done by starting CASP when the host PC is connected to the internet.
Dongle License Manager
Educational and Professional Licenses requires a USB license dongle for program execution.
· Single User Licensing
A USB dongle that is provided along with installation package may be placed directly into the USB port of the computer. This allows single instance of CASP to run on that computer. No additional license files are needed to be installed.
· Multi User Licensing
Multiuser licensing enables multiple users connected on a local area network (LAN) to run multiple instances of CASP (limited by licensing) with single USB dongle connected to one of the computer. A network license manager service program is required to be running on the computer to which USB dongle is connected.
Network License Manager Server
Network License Manager is a workstation/server program that assists the network security hardware key (USB dongle) in licensing multiple instances of CASP. The network hardware key provides licensing via a local area network (LAN) and/or a wide area network (WAN). Proper operation of CASP requires the installation of the License Manager on the License Manager Server and, during every CASP installation on client system, entering the License Manager Server IP address. License Manager cannot be operated on a virtual machine since that could violate CASP license agreements. CASP program can be installed on virtual machines as long as the network License Manager is installed on a non-virtual machine. The step by step procedure to enable and connect a network license server is explained below.
