Installing CASP Software (Windows Platform)
· Installation or Setup program installs CASP and all its components.
· It is recommended to install CASP under root directory of selected drive partition.
· Before installing CASP, install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (vc2005_redist_x64.exe), Visual C++ 2010 (vc2010_redist_x64.exe) and Visual C++ 2019 (vcredist_2015_2019_x64.exe) runtime libraries located in ‘vcredist’ folder of installation directory.
· Run the CASP installer program with file extension ‘.msi’ with administrative rights from installation directory and follow step by step on screen instructions to complete the installation.
· During installation the setup program installs necessary files under user selected directory. For network license installations, setup program also installs required license manager. CASP program shortcuts are placed on desktop and user’s Program Menu.
· In addition to the CASP installed folder, CASP also creates a folder named “casp_user_data” in current user’s Document folder for storing user created projects, blocks and board support package files. The data and files created in this folder will be persistent across CASP installations. User is encouraged to create and save his/her work related to CASP in this folder.
· MinGW native compiler tool chain is installed as part of default installation. Compiler tool chains for other supported target hardware can be installed later from CASP as explained below.
· After installation, CASP can be started from the operating systems ‘Start Menu’ or from Desktop icon.
· CASP can be uninstalled from the operating system’s Control Panel.
Installing CASP Software (macOS Platform)
· Double click on the downloaded disk image (.dmg) file. This will mount the DMG as a virtual disk, allowing you to access its contents. Locate ‘casp_install’ file and double click on it to install CASP. CASP will be installed in user’s ‘Applications’ directory.
· After installation, CASP can be started from the macOS ‘Launchpad’.
· CASP can be uninstalled by double clicking on ‘casp_remove’ located in the CASP disk image file. Alternately, CASP can be removed manually by deleting from the operating system’s ‘Finder’.
Installing CASP Software (Linux Platform)
· Extract the downloaded setup file (.zip file) to any folder in the user’s Home directory and follow the instructions given in the ‘Readme.txt’ file. Enter administrator password (sudo password) when prompted during installation.
· After installation, CASP can be started from the operating system’s ‘Start Menu’ or Application Launcher.
· CASP can be uninstalled by following the instructions provided in ‘Readme.txt’ file.
